If You Can’t Say Something Nice

Mamas and teachers  around the world have said, “If you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.”

And my world went silent. 😉

I’d always followed the rule, “If you can’t say something nice, say something clever and devastating.”

Oh well. 

Back to the subject… let’s make a phrase shift.

In addition to “someone,” let’s also add “yourself.”

If you can’t say something nice about someone or yourself, don’t say anything.

We all know the power of self-talk. 

We know the impact of words. 

We all know how one critical comment can make us forget a hundred compliments. 

So why would we speak to ourselves negatively? 

Why would we let that inner critic have their say?

Give yourself some compliments and credit.

Say nice things about you… to you.
